Description
Right next to the famed NSR Beach House and a stones throw from the waves at Colorado is the NSR Bella Vista Condo. This is a plush TOP FLOOR 3 bedroom/2 bathroom unit in Hacienda Iguana with a direct view to the lineup from the oversized balcony. This fourth floor unit is fully outfitted to make your stay a comfortable one. The condo has a fully stocked kitchen, Gas BBQ Grill, Flat screen TV, Cable TV, DVD player, AC in every room, and daily housekeeping. The condo is also equipped with a wireless Internet signal. Best of all you can look down on the surf from the balcony and the master bedroom. You cannot beat being able to watch the waves without leaving home - at first light or while you recharge on lunch.
This unit is located on the Top Floor of the Villas Rio Dulce condos in Hacienda Iguana. Playa Colorado surf is right in front of the building as is the small Rio Dulce (river). Guests of the condo have access to the beach front pool and beach club. Guests also enjoy membership rates on the golf course. After the NSR Beach House you simply can't get a place closer to the surf at Colorado.
Surf
As mentioned, the beach break zone at Playa Colorado is right in front of this property. The waves here are hollow and fast. A higher tide generally makes the wave somewhat softer and peakier. A 10 minutes walk up the beach to the north is Panga Drops, a wave that breaks over rock and sand, but usually with more size than the Colorado beach break zone. This is generally a softer, easier wave to surf great for intermediate to advanced during the Surf Season and for all levels from November through March. The breaks of Manzanillo, Rosada, Santana, Popoyo, Astillero, etc. are accessible by boat or car. Ask us about arranging Boat trips.
This stretch of Nicaragua's coast receives good surf and wind conditions year round. Generally storm generated groundswell is most consistent from April-September. Winds generally blow offshore all day long in this part of Nicaragua. In October longer spells of onshore winds are common. Hurricanes in the carribbean can also negatively affect the otherwise dominant offshore wind pattern.
Food
Within the Hacienda Iguana development where this house is located, there is a pizza restaurant/sports bar (1km from the house and knows as Don Eloy's) open nightly. There is also a breakfast/lunch joint located just a 2 minute walk from the condo. Other restaurants worth checking out are Restaurant Isabelle (located just a couple miles outside the gate of Hacienda Iguana), Camino del San Gigante (located in Gigante), Soma (located in Las Salinas), Yolanda's (located in Limon) and Rancho Santana (ask NSR staff to make you a reservation- need 24 hours advance notice). There are a few pulperias (small local stoes) that sell the basic necessities. You can find these stores in the villages of Limon (20min), Gigante (30min), and Las Salinas (30min). The best place to stop for groceries is a La Colonia or La Union supermarket in Granada or Maxi Pali in Rivas. Its best to stock up on your way from the airport to the house. We HIGHLY recommend stocking up on all or as many of the groceries you will need for your entire stay as you can on your way to the condo OR

Meal Plan For $35/person/day you will arrive to a kitchen stocked full of food and drink (yes, even beer and rum). Arranging this service will allow you to head straight from the airport to the house and beach without the hassle of shopping and spending time in a grocery store. Three delicious, healthy, and generous meals will be prepared daily by the staff allowing you to relax and enjoy your vacation completely. Transport
This house is located 2.5 hours drive from the airport. Ask your NSR to help you make your rental vehicle reservation (for either pick-up at the airport or a delivery right to your accommodations). 4wd is recommended during the rainy season months of May-October. If you prefer not to rent a car NSR has you covered. We have a fleet of reliable trucks and vans ready to offer you airport transport and daily sightseeing trips. NSR can also arrange boat trips to other breaks in the area.
